A QR code that saves your number in one scan

Fill in what you want people to have. The code holds your contact card itself, so when someone scans it, their phone offers to add you to Contacts straight away, on iPhone and Android, with no app and no website in between.

Add your name and a number or email, and the code appears here.

Shape

Corners

Everything is inside the code, so a new number, job or email means printing a new code.

How to make it

  1. 01

    Fill in your details

Your name and one way to reach you are enough. Every extra field makes the code denser, so add only what someone needs to get back to you.

  2. 02

    Check the size advice

The tool tells you the smallest size the code can be printed and still scan. On a visiting card, a code with name, phone and email fits comfortably. A long address may not.

  3. 03

    Download and print

Download the code for your card, or the contact file to send on WhatsApp or email. Scan the printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone before ordering.

Why a contact code beats a printed number

A number printed on a card has to be typed, and typing is where contacts get lost: a wrong digit, a name saved as "Sharma ji plumber", a card left in a wallet. A contact code saves your name, number, email and company in one go, spelled the way you spell them.

It also works without the internet. The details are in the code, so the phone saves them even in a basement hall with no signal.

Keep it short so it scans

A QR code grows denser with every letter it holds. A name, a mobile number and an email make a code that reads easily from a visiting card. Add an address, a website and a job title, and the squares get small enough that older phones struggle. If the tool asks you to print larger than your card allows, drop the field you would miss least.

A code for your details, or a page

A contact code is perfect when your details will not change. If they might, the code goes out of date the day they do. A Cardless page holds your number with a Save my number button, your links and your photos, and its QR code keeps opening the latest version after you edit it.

Questions

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The normal camera app on both reads a contact code and offers to add the contact. No app needs to be installed.

Does saving the contact need the internet?

No. Your details are inside the code itself, so the phone can save them with no signal at all.

Can I add my photo?

No. A photo is far too large to fit in a QR code. A Cardless page can show your photo, and it has its own QR code.

Will the code expire?

No. Nothing about it depends on us. It saves the details it holds for as long as the printed code is readable.

Can I send the contact without the code?

Yes. Download the contact file and send it on WhatsApp or email. Opening it adds you to the other person's contacts.

Are my details sent to you?

No. The code and the contact file are made in your browser, on your own device. We count how often the tool is used, and that is all.

Details that stay correct after you print them

A Cardless page has its own QR code. Put your links, number and photos on it, change them whenever you like, and the code you printed keeps opening the latest version. You can also see how many people visit. There is nothing to pay while we are in pre-release.
